Namecheap raises .xyz to $21.48 a year and the .monster family to $21.98

Namecheap raised its prices for .xyz and several related endings on August 25, 2026. Its notice of August 12 says the registry for these endings applied an industry-wide increase to registrations, renewals and transfers that day. Running promotions on new registrations were not affected.

What it costs now

Ending	Before	From August 25, 2026
.xyz	$19.48	$21.48
.monster, .quest, .beauty, .hair, .skin, .makeup, .homes, .autos, .motorcycles, .boats, .yachts	$19.98	$21.98
.ceo (register, renew)	$124.98	$146.98

The “before” prices are the ones Namecheap set in its previous notice, for the increase of August 26, 2025. The same prices apply to registration, renewal and transfer, except where noted.

The 2026 notice also lists new prices for endings that weren’t in the 2025 one, including:

• .hosting: $405.98 to register, $437.98 to renew
• .game: $428.98 to register, $547.98 to renew
• .tickets: $459.98 to register, $608.98 to renew
• .us.com: $21.98 to register, $28.48 to renew
• .de.com: $21.48 to register, $28.48 to renew

First year versus renewal

Namecheap’s .xyz page now shows a first-year sale of $2.00, but a renewal price of $21.48 a year. Prices also vary a lot between registrars: Porkbun’s .xyz page shows a regular price of $14.21 a year to register, renew or transfer.

What to do

Before you register a .xyz for the first-year deal, look at the renewal price you will pay from year two. If you already hold .xyz names at $21.48 a year, compare that with other registrars’ renewal and transfer prices before your next renewal date.
