AI voice · 5 alternatives to ElevenLabs
5 ElevenLabs alternatives (2026): AI voice tools compared on price and usage
Speechify Studio, Murf AI, WellSaid, Descript and Fliki compared with ElevenLabs on price, how much voiceover each plan includes, commercial rights, voice cloning and free plans.
ElevenLabs is the best-known AI voice platform: text to speech, voice cloning, dubbing and sound effects. Starter is $5 a month billed yearly ($6 monthly) for 30,000 credits, which ElevenLabs puts at about 30 minutes of speech, with a commercial license and instant voice cloning.
The limits are usage and rights. Credits run out quickly on long scripts, and the free plan can’t be used commercially; anything you publish from it must credit elevenlabs.io.
So we compared five alternatives on what decides the bill: the price, how much voiceover each plan really includes, commercial rights, voice cloning and the free plan. Every price comes from each tool’s own pricing page, checked on October 18, 2026. Three other well-known names didn’t make the list: see the last question below.

1 Speechify StudioOur pick
- Paid from
- $100/year (Studio Starter, about $8.33/month): 24 hours of voiceover a year
- Free
- Studio Free: about 10 minutes of voiceover, no commercial rights, no MP3 download
- Best for
- The most voiceover per dollar, on a yearly plan
Speechify Studio is the voiceover and dubbing side of Speechify, separate from its reading app. Studio Starter is $100 a year for 86,400 credits, which at one credit per second of voiceover is 24 hours a year, about two hours a month.
Every plan includes 1,000+ voices, a dubbing studio and a voice changer. Dubbing uses three credits a second, so translated audio uses the allowance faster, and there's no monthly option.
What's good
- 1,000+ voices, with Voiceover Studio, Dubbing Studio and Voice Changer on every plan
- Commercial usage rights on paid plans
- Re-exporting unchanged speech or changing only the volume uses no credits
Watch out for
- Billed yearly only; no monthly price is shown
- Dubbing uses 3 credits a second and avatars 30, so credits go faster than for plain voiceover

Creator includes commercial rights and unlimited downloads, but Murf asks registered businesses to buy the Business plan ($66 a month billed yearly), and voice cloning is an Enterprise add-on.
What's good
- 200+ AI voices in 30+ languages and accents
- Creator includes unlimited downloads and commercial rights
- Changing voice, style, pitch, speed or pauses on the same text uses no generation time

Starter and Pro are English-only; other languages and translation need Enterprise, and voice cloning isn't listed on the pricing page.

- Free
- Free: 60 media minutes a month, limited text to speech and voice cloning, watermarked 720p export

Descript is a video and podcast editor you use like a document: edit the transcript and the recording follows. Its AI Speech adds text to speech and custom voice clones, so you can fix a misspoken word in your own voice.
Voice is a feature here, not the product. AI Speech uses AI credits (400 a month on Hobbyist), Descript publishes no fixed rate per minute, and unused credits don't roll over.
What's good
- Hobbyist includes AI Speech with custom voice clones and 25+ stock AI speakers
- Watermark-free 1080p export from Hobbyist
- You edit audio and video by editing the transcript
Watch out for
- AI Speech uses AI credits, and Descript publishes no fixed rate per minute

Our pick
Speechify Studio
For most voiceover work, Speechify Studio gives the most audio for the money: $100 a year (about $8.33 a month) covers 24 hours of voiceover, with commercial rights and dubbing on every plan. It's billed yearly only.
If you produce scripted training or explainer videos, Murf AI has 200+ voices in 30+ languages and doesn't charge generation time for re-tuning a line. If you also edit audio or video, Descript includes AI voices and voice cloning inside its editor.
Questions
What is the cheapest ElevenLabs alternative?
ElevenLabs Starter itself is cheap at $5 a month billed yearly, for about 30 minutes of speech a month. For more audio, Speechify Studio's $100 a year covers 24 hours of voiceover (about two hours a month), and Murf Creator's $19 a month billed yearly covers the same 24 hours a year.
Which ElevenLabs alternative can clone my voice?
Descript includes custom voice clones from its Hobbyist plan, and Fliki includes voice cloning from Standard. Murf offers cloning only as an Enterprise add-on, and WellSaid and Speechify Studio do not list it on their pricing pages.

When we checked on October 18, 2026, PlayHT's websites did not load and LOVO's returned an error, so we left them out. Resemble AI's own blog says it is no longer selling voice AI to new customers.
How we compare: we read each tool's own pricing and documentation and note the date. We haven't run these tools hands-on for this article, so we don't score them. See our editorial policy.
