Identity Digital to raise .io, .info, .pro and .mobi prices on Jan 19, 2027

Identity Digital, the registry that runs .io, has told registrars that prices for .io, .info, .pro and .mobi go up on January 19, 2027. Domain Name Wire reported the notice on July 21, 2026. Porkbun’s price-change page lists all four endings for that date with its estimated new prices.

Porkbun’s regular price is the same to register, renew or transfer. Its first-year sale prices are much lower, for example $28.12 for a new .io and $3.60 for a new .info, but renewals are charged at the regular price. Porkbun says its new figures are estimated projections: the final retail price may be slightly higher or lower, and the estimates leave out promotions. Other registrars will set their own prices.

Who is affected

Anyone who renews, registers or transfers one of these four endings on or after January 19, 2027. For .io, Porkbun’s estimate means about $8 more per year at the regular price, and for .mobi about $13. The change is separate from Identity Digital’s October 6, 2026 increase on more than 200 other endings, which did not include .io.

What to do

If you hold a .io or .mobi name, check its expiry date and your registrar’s renewal price now. Porkbun’s advice is to renew for the maximum term, usually 10 years, before the date to keep today’s price as long as possible. If you are buying a new .io, compare the renewal price, not just the first-year offer.
