Bolt.new pricing: plans, tokens and what an app costs
Bolt.new is free for 1M tokens a month; Pro costs $25 a month for 10M tokens, or $216 a year billed annually. What tokens buy, rollover and limits, October 2026.
Bolt.new has a free plan with 1 million tokens a month, capped at 300,000 a day. Pro starts at $25 a month, billed monthly, for 10 million tokens with rollover, and Bolt’s help center prices the same 10M plan at $216 a year on annual billing, or $18 a month. Teams costs $30 per member a month and Enterprise is custom, all as of October 31, 2026. Bigger Pro tiers cost less per token: Bolt’s billing examples show $50 a month for 26M tokens and $100 for 55M.
We haven’t built apps with Bolt ourselves. The figures come from Bolt’s pricing page and its help center (billing, tokens, hosting, domains and Teams articles), all read October 31, 2026. Bolt’s pricing page shows only the starting Pro and Teams prices, so the larger tiers and the annual prices come from the worked examples in Bolt’s own billing help article. Cost-per-token figures and the scenarios are our arithmetic.

What the paid plans add, per Bolt’s pricing page:
- Pro: a custom domain with no Bolt branding, expanded database capacity, a choice of database provider, the newest AI models, connectors and MCPs, private sharing and an “SEO boost” for published sites.
- Teams: centralized billing, team-level access management, admin controls, org-wide sharing, private NPM registry support, team templates, single sign-on and priority support. Bolt calls it “Best for small teams.”
- Enterprise: SOC 2 Type II, GDPR and ISO 27001 compliance, audit logs, dedicated infrastructure, data retention policies, a dedicated account manager and 24/7 priority support, through a demo request.
Bolt’s help center says only the Standard agent is available on the free plan; the Max agent, which “thinks more about each step,” needs a paid plan.
What do the bigger Pro tiers cost?
Pro isn’t one price. When you upgrade, Bolt’s help center says you “drag the Monthly tokens slider to see the cost for different token allocations.” The pricing page doesn’t print the tiers above $25, but the billing help article uses these figures in its examples:
| Pro tier | Billing | Price | Tokens a month | Price per 1M tokens |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pro 10M | Monthly | $25 a month | 10M | $2.50 |
| Pro 10M | Annual | $216 a year ($18 a month) | 10M | $1.80 |
| Pro 50 (26M) | Monthly | $50 a month | 26M | $1.92 |
| Pro 26M | Annual | $540 a year ($45 a month) | 26M | $1.73 |
| Pro 100 (55M) | Monthly | $100 a month | 55M | $1.82 |
Price per 1M tokens is our division: $25 ÷ 10 = $2.50, $216 ÷ 12 ÷ 10 = $1.80, $50 ÷ 26 = $1.92, $540 ÷ 12 ÷ 26 = $1.73 and $100 ÷ 55 = $1.82.
The help center also names a Pro 200 plan without its token count. Check the slider in your account for the tiers on offer when you sign up.
How much do you save with yearly billing?
Bolt’s pricing page says yearly billing can “Save up to 28%.” The help center’s figures match that at the entry tier:
- Pro 10M, monthly: 12 × $25 = $300 a year
- Pro 10M, annual: $216 a year
- Saving: $300 − $216 = $84, which is 28% of $300
At the 26M tier the saving is smaller: 12 × $50 = $600 a year on monthly billing against $540 annual, a $60 (10%) saving.
Annual billing comes with conditions, per the billing article:
- You’re billed for the next twelve months as soon as you subscribe.
- Tokens still arrive monthly, each allocation with the same two-month expiry.
- A downgrade of an annual plan, to a lower annual tier or to monthly, “doesn’t take effect until your next annual renewal date, which could be up to a year away.”
- An annual plan can only be upgraded to a higher annual plan, not switched to monthly mid-term.
Bolt subscriptions are non-refundable, its help center says, citing its Terms of Service. A year paid up front is a year committed.
What is a token in Bolt, and how fast do you use them?
Bolt says it uses tokens when it “reads, thinks about, and builds your project,” and that “most of your token usage comes from Bolt reading, understanding, and syncing your project files, so larger projects use more tokens per message.” Bolt doesn’t publish how many tokens a typical prompt or a finished app uses, so no fixed number of prompts per plan can be worked out from its pages.
What Bolt’s help center does say about saving tokens:
- Plan mode uses fewer tokens than Build mode, because it doesn’t change your code.
- Buttons are free. Publishing with the Publish button and restoring a version with Version History don’t use tokens; asking Bolt to do them in chat does.
- The Max agent uses more tokens than Standard on the same task.
- Connectors add context, and so add tokens; Bolt suggests turning them on only when needed.
- Repeated “Attempt fix” clicks each use tokens.
- Editing code yourself in Code view doesn’t use tokens, and works even when the free daily cap is reached.
The free plan’s two caps interact. At the 300K daily maximum, the 1M monthly allowance lasts 1,000,000 ÷ 300,000 = about 3.3 days of heavy use. In practice the monthly cap, not the daily one, is the limit a regular free user hits. Free tokens reset on the 1st of each calendar month; paid tokens reset on your renewal date.
How does token rollover work?
Rollover is a paid-plan feature. Bolt’s tokens article says unused monthly tokens “stay valid for two months from the start of the billing cycle in which you received them,” and are used oldest first.
Example on Pro 10M monthly, renewing on the 5th:
- July 5: you get 10M tokens, valid until September 5. You use 6M, leaving 4M.
- August 5: you get another 10M, valid until October 5. You now have 4M + 10M = 14M, and Bolt spends the July tokens first.
- September 5: any of the July 4M still unused expires.
Rules that can cost you tokens:
- Cancelling means you “lose access to all allocated tokens (including rollover tokens) when the billing cycle ends.” Resubscribe before they expire and you get them back.
- A failed payment that isn’t fixed during Bolt’s retry period moves you to the free tier and you lose rollover tokens until you re-subscribe.
- Upgrading mid-cycle gives tokens valid for two months from the start of that cycle, not from the upgrade date.
- Free plan tokens never roll over.
- Teams tokens stay with the member who received them. Bolt says tokens “aren’t shared among team members.”
Can you buy more tokens?
Sometimes. Bolt’s tokens article says reloads are available on “the highest individual monthly Pro plan or to any annual Pro plan.” Reloaded tokens don’t expire. Bolt doesn’t publish reload prices; it says the price varies by plan and that higher annual tiers pay less per 10M tokens. Its advice is that “the most cost-effective option is to upgrade to a higher-tier plan.”
When you upgrade a monthly plan mid-cycle, Bolt charges the price difference and adds the token difference at once. Its example: on Pro 50 ($50, 26M tokens) with 6M left on January 20, upgrading to Pro 100 ($100, 55M tokens) costs $50 and adds 29M tokens, for 35M in hand.
What does it cost to run an app on Bolt?
Hosting is included. Bolt’s hosting article lists:
| Free | Pro (any paid plan) | |
|---|---|---|
| Bandwidth | 10 GB a month | 30 GB a month |
| Web requests | 333,333 a month | 1 million a month |
| Typical visits, per Bolt | About 10,000-15,000 a month | Often 100,000+ a month |
| Over the limit | Site goes offline until the next cycle; no way to raise it | Optional pay-as-you-go traffic up to a spending cap you set |
| Branding | “Made in Bolt” badge | No badge |
The limits apply to your whole account, not to each project. Bolt doesn’t publish the pay-as-you-go rate for extra bandwidth or requests on the pages we read.
Domains. Custom domains need a paid plan. Bolt sells domains inside the app for paid users, up to 10 per account to start; they are locked for 60 days, during which you can move them only into your own Name.com account. Bolt’s help article doesn’t print domain prices; you see them at checkout. You can also connect a domain bought elsewhere. For comparison, a .com at Cloudflare Registrar costs $10.46 a year, first year and renewal (AskGPU data, checked October 18, 2026).
Worked example: a small app for one year. One builder on Pro 10M with a .com from Cloudflare:
- Monthly billing: 12 × $25 + $10.46 = $310.46
- Annual billing: $216 + $10.46 = $226.46
This assumes the app stays within 1M web requests and 30 GB of bandwidth, needs no reloads, and that sales tax isn’t added. Bolt’s database is included in the plan; connecting Supabase instead needs Pro or Teams and is billed by Supabase.
A team of three on Teams: 3 × $30 × 12 = $1,080 a year, with 10M tokens per member that can’t be pooled.
Bolt vs Lovable: which costs less?
Both start at $25 a month for their first paid plan. They measure usage differently:
| Bolt.new | Lovable | |
|---|---|---|
| Free plan | 1M tokens a month, 300K a day | 5 build credits a day (up to 30 a month) plus 20 Cloud credits a month |
| First paid plan | Pro, $25 a month (10M tokens) | Pro, $25 a month (100 monthly credits) |
| Unused allowance | Rolls over for up to two months while subscribed | Daily credits expire at the end of each day |
| Custom domain | Pro and up | Not on the free plan (5 lovable.app domains) |
| Branding on free sites | “Made in Bolt” badge | Lovable badge |
Lovable figures are from AskGPU data (checked October 17, 2026). The two units can’t be converted: Bolt counts AI tokens, Lovable counts credits per action, and neither publishes how many a typical app needs. Our real cost of vibe coding tools guide puts Bolt, Lovable, Replit, v0 and Base44 side by side for a 1,000-user app, and the Lovable alternatives roundup covers Bolt’s free plan in more detail.
What to watch for
- No refunds. Bolt subscriptions are non-refundable. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the current period runs out.
- Annual lock-in. Annual downgrades wait for the renewal date, up to a year away.
- Rollover isn’t banked forever. Monthly tokens expire after two months, and cancelling drops them at the end of the cycle.
- Tax and billing changes. From November 1, 2026, Link, a payment service built by Stripe, bills Bolt subscriptions. Bolt says VAT or sales tax may now be added where required, “so your total may be higher than before.” Charges show as
Link.com*Bolt.new. You can pay in USD or a local currency; local-currency charges follow the exchange rate. - Cards only. Bolt accepts credit and debit cards for Pro and Teams, not PayPal or bank transfers.
- Free hosting stops at the cap. A free site that passes 333,333 requests or 10 GB goes offline for the rest of the month.
- Cancelled while over the free limit. If you cancel after using more than 1M tokens in the month, you wait until the next month for free tokens, per Bolt’s example.
- Lite is a waitlist plan. Bolt’s help center describes a $9-a-month Lite plan, by waitlist, that only builds with Bolt Forge’s open-source models and excludes custom domains and extra usage. The Forge preview dates it gives ran from September 14 to October 14, 2026, so check what is offered before counting on it.
Which Bolt plan should you choose?
- Trying it out or building a personal project: Free. 1M tokens a month and free hosting, with a badge and no custom domain.
- Launching one real site or app: Pro 10M. On annual billing, $216 a year if you’re sure you’ll keep it; $25 a month if you aren’t, since there are no refunds.
- Building most days: a bigger Pro tier. The 26M tier costs $1.92 per 1M tokens monthly against $2.50 on the 10M tier, and annual Pro plans can buy reloads.
- A small team: Teams at $30 per member, if you need central billing and SSO. Each member’s tokens are separate, so a light user’s allowance can’t cover a heavy one.
- Comparing with other builders first: start at our AI app builders hub and the Bolt.new tool page.
