DigitalOcean launches Spot GPU Droplets for B300, MI355X and MI350X

Spot GPU Droplets entered public preview on August 10, 2026. On October 18 the pricing page listed a B300 at $6.17 per GPU-hour; the price is locked when you create the Droplet.

DigitalOcean launches Spot GPU Droplets for B300, MI355X and MI350X. B300 spot (Oct 18): $6.17/hr, MI355X spot (Oct 18): $5.50/hr, MI350X spot (Oct 18): $3.50/hr, Reclaim notice: Aims for 2+ hours. Spot GPU Droplets, price per GPU-hour on October 18, 2026: NVIDIA HGX B300 $6.17/hr, AMD Instinct MI355X $5.50/hr, AMD Instinct MI350X $3.50/hr.

DigitalOcean put Spot GPU Droplets into public preview on August 10, 2026. Spot Droplets run on idle GPU capacity at a lower, changing price, and DigitalOcean can take them back when it needs the capacity. They come in single-GPU and 8-GPU sizes. The same day, DigitalOcean opened a data center in Memphis, Tennessee (MEM1), which offers AMD Instinct MI355X Spot GPU Droplets.

What it costs

DigitalOcean’s pricing page lists three Spot plans. On October 18, 2026, the current prices per GPU per hour were:

GPU Spot price (Oct 18) Spot price (Aug 30)
NVIDIA HGX B300 $6.17 $11.19
AMD Instinct MI355X $5.50 $4.50
AMD Instinct MI350X $3.50 $4.00

The prices move: DigitalOcean’s docs say they may change daily, based on idle GPU capacity, and are never above the on-demand price for the same configuration. The price you see when you create a Droplet is locked for the life of that Droplet.

None of these three GPUs is offered on demand. Without Spot, the B300 is available only on a 12-month reserved plan, at $7.94 per GPU-hour.

The catch: reclaims

DigitalOcean can reclaim a Spot GPU Droplet to reuse the capacity. The pricing page says it aims to give at least 2 hours’ notice, but in some cases, including emergencies, it may give less notice or none. The notice goes by email to the team account and to the person who created the Droplet. Billing is per second, like on-demand GPU Droplets, and stops when you destroy the Droplet or DigitalOcean reclaims it.

DigitalOcean suggests Spot for batch training, batch or asynchronous inference, hyperparameter tuning and rendering: work that can save its progress and restart elsewhere. For production inference and anything that needs to stay up, it points to on-demand Droplets.

Also on Kubernetes

Since September 9, 2026, DigitalOcean Kubernetes can run Spot GPU node pools in public preview, on MI350X, MI355X and B300 capacity.

What to do

Save checkpoints often and plan for a reclaim with little warning. Because the rate is locked when you create the Droplet, check the current Spot price first: on these pages it moved by more than $5 per GPU-hour for the B300 between August 30 and October 18.
