AWS raises EC2 Capacity Block GPU prices about 15% from October 7

Reserving B300 GPUs through EC2 Capacity Blocks for ML now costs $16.146 per GPU-hour, up from $14.04. On-Demand and Savings Plans prices did not change.

AWS raises EC2 Capacity Block GPU prices about 15% from October 7. B300 (P6-B300): $16.146/hr, H100 (P5): $5.970/hr, Rise: About 15%, B300 since June: +38%. EC2 Capacity Blocks for ML, US regions, USD per GPU-hour: P6-B300 (B300) $14.04/hr before, $16.15/hr now, P6-B200 (B200) $12.36/hr before, $14.21/hr now, P5en (H200) $6.87/hr before, $7.90/hr now, P5e (H200) $5.97/hr before, $6.87/hr now, P5 (H100) $5.19/hr before, $5.97/hr now, P4de (A100) $2.21/hr before, $2.55/hr now, P4d (A100) $1.48/hr before, $1.70/hr now.

AWS raised the prices of EC2 Capacity Blocks for ML on October 7, 2026. Capacity Blocks let you reserve GPU instances for a set period and pay for them up front. A notice on AWS’s pricing page gave the new hourly rates per accelerator, about 15% above the old ones. It also said On-Demand and Savings Plans prices stay the same.

Old and new rates

Per GPU-hour in US regions. The large sizes (48xlarge and 24xlarge) have 8 GPUs each, so a full instance costs 8 times these rates.

Instance GPU Before From October 7
P6-B300 B300 $14.04 $16.146
P6-B200 B200 $12.355 $14.208
P5en H200 $6.865 $7.895
P5e H200 $5.97 $6.866
P5 H100 $5.191 $5.970
P4de A100 $2.214 $2.546
P4d A100 $1.475 $1.696

A full p6-b300.48xlarge now costs $129.168 an hour, up from $112.32. Outside the US the rise was bigger for some instances: P5 used to cost $4.72 per GPU-hour there and now costs $5.970, the same as in the US. In AWS GovCloud, P6-B300 is $16.819 and P6-B200 $14.801.

The second rise since July

AWS also raised these prices in July. Before that change, the page listed P6-B300 at $11.70 and P5 at $4.326 per GPU-hour in US regions. Since June, both are up about 38%.

How you are charged

You pay the rate in effect when you buy a Capacity Block, even if the block starts after a price change. The reservation fee is paid up front. Operating system fees are extra and charged only while instances run: $0 for Linux, or $1.8432 per instance-hour for Red Hat Enterprise Linux on P6 and P5 instances. AWS says it updates these prices with supply and demand, and the page now gives January 2027 as the next scheduled update.

What to do

If you book short GPU reservations on AWS, price the same block again: a two-day block of one p6-b300.48xlarge now costs about $6,200 before OS fees. Compare that with On-Demand or a Savings Plan for the same instance, which this change did not touch.
