Cheaper, but a different kind of model
On price per token, GPT-6 Luna is lower than all four. It is a reasoning model, though: it has a
reasoning.effort setting from none to max, with medium as the default. In Chat Completions, Luna supports function calling only when effort is set to
none. Apps built on GPT-4o’s plain chat behavior should test both cost per task and output style.
