Make launches Maia, an AI co-worker that builds scenarios from chat
Make released Maia on August 12, 2026. It builds and fixes automations from plain-language requests and draws on your Make credits after a free allowance.

Make released Maia on August 12, 2026. Maia is a chat assistant built into Make’s visual Scenario Builder that creates, changes and troubleshoots automations from plain-language requests. Make’s post says it is live for all Make users. Its help pages still call Maia a public beta.
What it does
You describe what you want to automate, and Maia builds the scenario on the canvas while showing its steps as it works. Make says Maia “reasons out loud and builds visually,” so you can follow and check what it adds instead of getting a finished workflow you cannot inspect. It can also edit an existing scenario or help find why one fails.
What it costs
Maia runs on the same credits as your scenarios. Make’s help page sets these allowances:
| Plan | Free allowance | After that |
|---|---|---|
| Paid plans | First 70 messages, within 30 days of first use | Unlimited use, paid in credits |
| Free plan | 45 messages in a 30-day trial | Upgrade needed to keep using Maia |
The number of credits per message depends on how complex the task is and how many AI tokens it uses. The cost is the same on every plan. Make’s own examples show single messages using 140.04 and 160.18 credits. Chat messages and scenario edits come out of the same credit pool as scenario and module runs. Make notes that these details may change while Maia is in public beta.
Who should care
Teams new to Make can get a first working scenario without learning every module. But on a plan with a tight credit allowance, a long building session with Maia can use a noticeable share of the month’s credits. At around 150 credits a message, 10 messages would use about 1,500 credits.
What to do
Use your free messages to see how many credits your typical requests take. You can track Maia’s usage in Make’s Credit Usage table. If you build often, budget for those credits, or build simple scenarios by hand and save Maia for the harder ones.
