Opus Clip pricing: plans, credits and cost per video
OpusClip is free for 60 minutes of video a month. Starter is $15 a month and Pro $29, or $14.50 billed yearly. What each credit buys and real monthly costs.
OpusClip has a free plan with 60 credits a month, a Starter plan at $15 a month with 150 credits, and a Pro plan at $29 a month or $14.50 a month billed yearly ($174) with 300 credits a month, as of October 2026. One credit processes one minute of the video you upload, so paid plans work out to roughly 5 to 10 cents per minute of source video. A one-hour podcast uses 60 credits, whatever number of clips it produces.
We haven’t used OpusClip ourselves. The prices and rules here come from OpusClip’s pricing page and its help center, read on October 31, 2026, and match the site’s own data for OpusClip (checked October 17, 2026). The prices are the US prices. OpusClip’s pricing page charges less in some other countries.

Sources: OpusClip pricing page and help center, October 31, 2026. OpusClip’s help center says Starter and Pro projects expire “30 days after creation,” while the pricing page’s comparison table says Starter media “expires after 29 days.”
Three billing rules shape what you pay:
- Starter is monthly only. The pricing page says “Starter plan only available in monthly.”
- Pro is sold in packs. Each pack adds 300 credits a month and two team seats, up to four seats. The pricing page multiplies the Pro price by the number of packs you choose, up to 15, and asks you to contact sales for more.
- Yearly Pro is half price. OpusClip’s help center says yearly plans “offer credits at a 50% discount compared to monthly plans.” One pack for a year costs $174, against 12 × $29 = $348 on monthly billing, a saving of $174.
How do OpusClip credits work?
OpusClip’s help center says processing “will cost 1 credit per minute of the original video imported.” The length of your source video sets the cost, not how many clips come out of it.
The rounding rules, from the help center:
- Under one minute: rounded up to one credit. A 30-second video costs 1 credit.
- Partial minutes: rounded down. A 4.5-minute video costs 4 credits.
- Posting to X: 3 credits per clip, per X account. Posting one clip to two X accounts uses 6 credits. Failed or deleted posts are refunded.
How many clips you get depends on the length of the video and the clipping model. OpusClip publishes these ranges:
| Source video length | Clips OpusClip says it usually makes |
|---|---|
| 0–3 minutes | 1–2 |
| 3–10 minutes | 3–14 |
| 10–30 minutes | 5–21 |
| 30–60 minutes | 23–32 |
| 60–120 minutes | 32–42 |
| Over 120 minutes | 42–55 |
OpusClip supports source videos up to 10 hours long. For longer recordings, the help center suggests processing only a selected part, which also uses fewer credits.
What does OpusClip cost per minute of video?
Divide each plan’s price by its credits and you get the price per minute of uploaded video, if you use every credit:
| Plan | Price | Credits | Cost per credit (one minute of source video) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $15 a month | 150 | $15 ÷ 150 = $0.10 |
| Pro, monthly | $29 a month | 300 | $29 ÷ 300 = about $0.097 |
| Pro, yearly | $174 a year | 3,600 | $174 ÷ 3,600 = about $0.048 |
So Starter and monthly Pro cost about the same per minute. Pro gets you more features for the money, and yearly Pro halves the price per minute. Unused credits raise your real cost per minute, so pick the plan that matches how much video you actually upload.
What does the free plan include?
OpusClip’s free plan gives 60 credits a month, so about one hour of source video. The pricing page lists:
- Up to 1080p clips
- Auto reframe and AI captions with emoji and keyword highlighting
- One brand template
- Video import from YouTube and local files
And its limits:
- Clips carry a watermark.
- No editing. You get the clips as OpusClip makes them.
- Three days to export. The pricing page says “after 3 days, the clips will no longer be exportable,” and the help center says free-plan projects “expire 3 days after creation” and can’t be recovered.
New accounts start with a 7-day free trial of Pro, without a credit card in the countries OpusClip “serves at full capacity.” After 7 days the trial account becomes a free account automatically. Trial exports still carry the watermark, and OpusClip lists other Pro features left out of the trial, including social posting and scheduling, 4K downloads, music, and project refunds.
What do Starter and Pro add?
Starter ($15 a month) removes the watermark and adds the editor, filler and silence removal, a virality score for each clip, faster processing than the free plan, more import sources (Google Drive, Vimeo, Zoom, Rumble and StreamYard, according to the help center) and direct posting to YouTube Shorts, TikTok and Instagram Reels.
Pro ($29 a month or $14.50 billed yearly) adds, according to the pricing page and help center:
- Twice the credits (300 a month per pack) and more packs if you need them
- A team workspace with 2 seats per pack (up to 4), shared credits and 2 brand templates
- Multiple aspect ratios: 9:16, 1:1 and 16:9
- AI B-roll, speech enhancement, video dubbing and custom fonts
- Export to Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve as XML
- A social scheduler with 6 connected accounts per pack (12 with two or more)
- 100 GB of cloud storage to keep projects past 30 days
- 4K download when your source video is genuine 4K. OpusClip says this “is not upscaling.”
- On-demand credit top-ups and limited API access (beta)
- Project refunds: if you don’t like the result and haven’t downloaded a clip, you can refund the project’s credits
Business is custom-priced through OpusClip’s sales team, for teams over 10 seats, API use, priority processing and invoicing by ACH or wire transfer.
Worked examples: what a month of clips costs
These use OpusClip’s US prices and credit rules from October 31, 2026.
A weekly one-hour podcast. Four 60-minute episodes a month: 4 × 60 = 240 credits. Starter’s 150 isn’t enough, so this needs Pro.
- Monthly: $29 a month. Per episode: $29 ÷ 4 = $7.25.
- Yearly: $174 a year, or $14.50 a month. Per episode: $14.50 ÷ 4 = about $3.63.
- 60 credits of the 300 go unused each month. Monthly-plan credits roll over for one more month, so they can cover a longer episode later.
A YouTuber with two 15-minute videos a week. Eight videos a month: 8 × 15 = 120 credits. Starter’s 150 credits covers this, with 30 to spare.
- $15 a month, or $15 ÷ 8 = about $1.88 per video.
- Over a year, Starter costs 12 × $15 = $180. Yearly Pro costs $174 and gives 3,600 credits against the 1,440 this creator needs (12 × 120), plus Pro features. If you’re sure you’ll keep going for a year, yearly Pro is $6 cheaper than a year of Starter.
A small agency processing 20 hours of client video a month. 20 × 60 = 1,200 credits a month, which is four Pro packs (4 × 300 = 1,200).
- Monthly: 4 × $29 = $116 a month, or $1,392 a year.
- Yearly: 4 × $174 = $696 a year, or $58 a month.
- Four packs still give a maximum of 4 seats. Teams over 10 seats are pointed to the Business plan.
What to watch for
- Credits expire. On monthly plans, the help center says credits “expire in 60 days, so they roll over for one additional month.” Yearly plans deliver the full year’s credits at once, and they expire after 12 months.
- Cancelling doesn’t refund credits. Remaining credits expire on their original date. After cancelling, OpusClip warns, your projects won’t be accessible after 3 days.
- Downgrades wait for the next billing cycle. Pro to Starter and removing packs take effect at the end of the current cycle. Yearly Pro can’t be switched to Starter directly; OpusClip says to cancel and resubscribe.
- You can’t downgrade to Free with credits left. OpusClip blocks a move to Free if you have more than 30 credits remaining, and the change is immediate when it happens.
- Projects disappear. Free projects expire after 3 days and paid ones after about 30, unless a Pro user saves them to cloud storage. Downgrading from Pro removes saved projects and uploaded assets from cloud storage right away. OpusClip recommends saving important clips to your own computer.
- Adding packs restarts billing. Adding Pro packs “starts a new billing cycle immediately” at the full new price. Upgrading Starter to Pro is prorated.
- X posting costs credits. Plan for 3 credits per clip per X account.
- Seats come with packs. You can’t buy seats alone.
Is there an OpusClip alternative?
OpusClip makes short clips from long videos. If you want to edit full videos by text instead, Descript is the closest tool in our data. Descript’s free plan gives 1 media hour a month at 720p with a watermark, and its paid plans start at $16 a month per person billed annually ($24 monthly) for Hobbyist, then $24 ($35 monthly) for Creator and $50 ($65 monthly) for Business, per our data checked October 17, 2026. See our Descript page for details.
OpusClip’s maker also sells Agent Opus, a separate product that generates videos from prompts. Its pricing page lists Pro at $29 a month billed annually ($348) for 3,600 credits a year and Max at $129 a month billed annually ($1,548) for 18,000 credits a year. OpusClip’s help center says Max credits can also be used on OpusClip. These are separate subscriptions from OpusClip Pro.

Which OpusClip plan should you choose?
- You want to try it, or clip one video a month: Free. Download your clips within 3 days and accept the watermark.
- You upload up to about 2.5 hours a month and post to YouTube, TikTok or Instagram: Starter at $15. It removes the watermark and adds editing.
- You upload 2.5 to 5 hours a month, or need 16:9, B-roll, scheduling or a second seat: Pro. Pay yearly ($174) if you’ll use it all year; it halves the cost per minute.
- You process more than 5 hours a month: Pro with extra packs, one pack per 5 hours. Compare monthly and yearly totals before you commit.
- You need more than 4 seats, invoicing or API access at scale: ask OpusClip about Business.
