Vercel prices Password Protection on Pro at $20 per project, not $150 a team

Since September 9, 2026, Vercel Pro teams can password-protect a single project for $20 a month. Before, it took a $150/mo team add-on that covered every project.

Vercel prices Password Protection on Pro at $20 per project, not $150 a team. Per project: $20/mo, Old team add-on: $150/mo, Costs more from: 8 projects, Hobby plan: Not available. Vercel Pro, monthly cost of Password Protection by number of protected projects: 1 project $150/mo before, $20/mo now, 3 projects $150/mo before, $60/mo now, 7 projects $150/mo before, $140/mo now, 10 projects $150/mo before, $200/mo now.

Vercel changed how it charges Pro teams for Password Protection on September 9, 2026. Teams can now turn it on for single projects at $20 per project per month. Before, the only way to get it on Pro was a $150-a-month team-level add-on that covered every project.

What it costs now

Protected projects Before (team add-on) Now ($20 per project)
1 $150/mo $20/mo
3 $150/mo $60/mo
7 $150/mo $140/mo
10 $150/mo $200/mo

The per-project price is cheaper for up to seven protected projects. From eight projects up, it costs more than the old flat add-on.

Vercel’s docs say each protected project is charged separately, and turning Password Protection off for a project stops future charges for it. It is not available on Hobby. On Enterprise it is included for every project at the team level.

Teams that already pay $150

Existing Pro teams that bought the legacy Advanced Deployment Protection package keep their current billing and Password Protection on every project. The docs say the package now appears on invoices as “Team Level Password Protection”. To switch to per-project pricing, you have to contact Vercel support.

What stays free

The docs list Vercel Authentication, Standard Protection, Deployment Protection Exceptions, Protection Bypass for Automation and Shareable Links as included on all plans, with no separate charge. Hobby accounts are limited to one shareable link.

How to turn it on

In the project, open Security in the sidebar, select Deployment Protection and turn on Password Protection.

What to do

Count the projects you actually need behind a password. If you are on the old add-on and protect seven or fewer, ask support about moving to per-project pricing. If you protect eight or more, keeping the team-level package costs less.
