Vercel launches Flat Rate CDN for Pro teams, with tiers from $20 a month

Since September 8, 2026, Vercel Pro teams can pay a fixed monthly price for CDN traffic. Pro includes 1M requests and 1 TB; paid tiers cost $20, $100 or $300 a month.

Vercel launches Flat Rate CDN for Pro teams, with tiers from $20 a month. Included with Pro: 1M req, 1 TB, Paid tiers: $20-$300/mo, Top tier: 150M req, 50 TB, Existing Pro teams: Opt in. Vercel Flat Rate CDN, paid tiers, price per month: 10M requests, 50 TB $20/mo, 50M requests, 50 TB $100/mo, 150M requests, 50 TB $300/mo.

Vercel made Flat Rate CDN generally available for Pro teams on September 8, 2026. It swaps usage-based CDN billing for a fixed monthly price per team. New Pro teams get it by default. Existing Pro teams keep pay-as-you-go billing unless they switch it on in Billing settings.

The tiers

Tier CDN requests Data transfer
Included with Pro 1M 1 TB
$20/mo 10M 50 TB
$100/mo 50M 50 TB
$300/mo 150M 50 TB

The capacity covers Fast Data Transfer, Blob Data Transfer, CDN requests and the observability events those requests create. It is pooled across the whole team, so a spike on one project draws on the same allowance as the others.

What happens if you go over

Spike protection is on by default. Vercel’s changelog says traffic above your tier is served normally and isn’t billed, subject to fair use guidelines. The launch post adds the details:

  • Vercel leaves out short spikes when it compares your usage with your tier.
  • Your tier stays fixed for the billing period, and Vercel adjusts it monthly based on sustained usage.
  • You get a notice as usage nears your tier’s capacity.
  • If you are materially above capacity, Vercel may move projects to its Flex CDN tier and change your Flat Rate tier at the start of the next billing cycle.
  • You can opt out at any time and go back to pay-as-you-go CDN billing.

How it compares with pay-as-you-go

Vercel’s pricing page lists Pro at $20 a month with 1 TB of Fast Data Transfer and 10M CDN requests included, then overage starting at $0.15 per GB and $2 per million requests. The Flat Rate included tier lists 1M requests rather than 10M, so a team with many small requests should compare both before switching.

What to do

Open your team’s usage page and look at the last few months of data transfer and CDN requests. If you regularly pay transfer overage beyond the included 1 TB, the $20 tier, with 50 TB, is worth pricing out. If you stay inside the included amounts, nothing changes unless you opt in.
