Microsoft 365 raises Business Basic to $7 and Business Standard to $14

Microsoft’s new list prices for its Microsoft 365 suites took effect on July 1, 2026. The two cheapest business plans with email cost more: Business Basic went from $6 to $7 and Business Standard from $12.50 to $14. Microsoft announced the change on December 4, 2025.

What it costs now

Microsoft’s price table on its blog lists these changes:

Plan	Before	From July 1, 2026
Business Basic	$6	$7
Business Standard	$12.50	$14
Business Premium	$22	$22
Office 365 E1	$10	$10
Office 365 E3	$23	$26
Microsoft 365 E3	$36	$39
Microsoft 365 E5	$57	$60
Microsoft 365 F1	$2.25	$3
Microsoft 365 F3	$8	$10

A footnote says these list prices are for the versions that include Microsoft Teams. Suites bought without Teams get the same dollar increase. Prices apply globally, with local market adjustments in some regions.

What you get for the extra money

Microsoft’s capability table adds 50 GB of email storage to Business Basic, Business Standard and Business Premium. Basic and Standard also get URL checks in Outlook and Office apps, which Microsoft says help protect against known malicious websites when users click links. All three Business plans get Copilot Chat enhancements and security, management and analytics tools for Copilot Chat.

Who is affected

Microsoft’s Partner Center notice says the new prices apply to new and renewing customers from July 1, 2026. Existing subscribers see the new price at their first renewal after that date. Customers who renewed before July 1 kept the old price until their next renewal.

What to do

If your Business Basic or Standard subscription renews soon, budget for the higher price on every seat. The gap between Standard ($14) and Premium ($22) is now smaller than before, so check whether Premium’s extra features are worth $8 more per seat before you renew.
